Japan will start selling these blue roses. The Japanese company Suntory has announced that on November 3 on the shelves will go the world's first genetically modified blue roses. This is the result of 14 years of intense research in order to create a unique variety. The largest producer of whiskey (the main activity of Suntory) reported that a turning point in the development came in 2004, thanks to the engineers of the Australian biotechnology company Florigene. In nature there is no blue roses similar group managed by implantation to create a gene that leads to the synthesis of delphinidin pigment (delphinidin), responsible for the staining in pansy petals.
